Dragging...

Ugh. I hit a wall today.

I'm sitting here in my "workout" clothes (pajamas) with my tennis shoes on and my hair pulled back, my bottle of water sitting ready. I even turned the workout video on.

And watched it for a full minute before I turned it back off and sat down here.

I just DON'T WANT TO WORK OUT TODAY.

I haven't been feeling like this at all, in fact, I've been looking forward to it every day and even the ONE day off we had (Sunday) I actually wanted to work out that day too (but didn't of course).

But MAN, I just don't feel like it today. I'm TIRED. And I'm TIRED. AND some ladies from church are coming to visit and I wasted my morning reading a book and now I feel pressured and I don't want to take the 40 minutes to exercise and then the extra time to shower and get ready after that.

WAAH. WAh. Wah. WAH.

What do you guys do when you lose your motivation?

I'm going to eat some cookies while I wait for you to motivate me. Thankyouverymuch.

  1. You kept at it longer than I would have! I think I want to sit and eat some cookies with you. Maybe someone will come along and motivate both of us! ha ha.

Tell yourself you're on vacation. You can start again on Monday!

  2. everyone is entitled to NO motivation moments. Some time we push push push....and then there comes a time of ....ouch, I need to stop and DO NOTHING. It's not always a flaw of NOT MOTIVATED....cause it usually only lasts a day or two.
Think of how hard you push yourself in taking care of your family and responsibilities Melissa.
I think sometimes, when we are QUIET.....there are little opportunites for the "still small voice" to find it's way back to us.
So wear your jammies, read your book, eat a cookie.....LISTEN....and before long your crazy busy life will be back full board.

(ooo, did that sound like a sunday school lesson???)

  3. I love Wendy's comment. That seems to be motivation to just wait it out. Or permission to sit and eat cookies instead of exercise. Today I took a nap instead of walking. Good luck tomorrow!

  4. I am a runner and when I don't feel like it but I really should, I have my wife scream at me for five minutes about how fat I am. Works like a charm.

  5. Reading book (or blogs!) is never a waste of time...especially if you're eating cookies at the same time!!

I'm mysteriously judging whether or not you're going to comment or not...you know you want to.
